Who Are You?
I am the all powerful OZ... no wait...  I'm Kevin, the guy that runs this madhouse called a website.  Mostly I work on getting ready to teach Social Studies and when that isn't going on, I play with technology.  A gamer at heart, I love sitting down and cranking out a game of Rise of Nations or Savage...World of Warcraft has become a recent favorite of mine as well.  Online, most people know me as Kfitton.

Email Questions
Q: Why are you making this website?
A:  I am working on this as a continual project to document my teaching career.  Based on what I have seen of the education field, I believe that electronic document storage and online content are going to play a large role, educationally, in the next decade.

Q:  Aren't you concerned about having information about yourself on the internet?
A:  First off, I wouldn't be terribly concerned because being a teacher is already a public position.  People in the community are already going to know about me and if they want to know a little more, I don't have a problem with that.  Second, while identity theft can happen...I learned long ago that no matter how secure a system is or how well you protect something, there is always going to be someone smarter and with a lot more time on their hands than you will ever have.  What is the point of living in fear all the time?

Q:  Won't schools be put off by you placing material online?  i.e.: would not want to hire someone like you.
A:  Hmm...  I think it is more important to think, "would I want to work for a school that is so short-sighted?"  As many have figured out from reading the material on this site...one of the paramount ideas that I am convinced of is that technology is going to play a much stronger role in the future of education and those who are not willing to place it all on the table need to get out of the game.  I know the gambling reference is cliché, but the education of our children is not something we should be shy about.  The environment should be such that teachers are getting in the face of the people of the community and the children are doing the same because the value of education is as clearly and as soon as possible explained to them.

Q:  Why did you decide on teaching?
A:  Sometimes I wonder that one myself...but honestly I worry about the state of education lately.  There seems to be little in the way of student responsibility is today's educational environment.
